AFRAM, which bills itself as one of the largest African American festivals on the East Coast, was held June 17 and 18 at Druid Hill Park. This year’s festival paid homage to Baltimore’s homegrown sound with Baltimore Club Music Day. There were performances from local DJs and dancers as well as from national acts like The Isley Brothers, Tamar Braxton, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Faith Spicer, who took the following photos, was born and raised in Baltimore City. She graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts this year, where she studied visual arts. During her senior year, Spicer’s oil-on-canvas piece “The Black Butterfly on the Fence” was selected as a first-place winner for City Hall’s Black History Month contest. Spicer will be attending Towson University in the fall. (Lisa Snowden)
